Routes & Maps

Routes & Maps vs Routific

Routific and Routes & Maps both avoid per-driver fees and include unlimited drivers. Routific charges per order, with a free plan up to 100 orders a month; Routes & Maps charges a monthly plan with a stop allowance. Routific is built around delivery, while Routes & Maps also covers field service work such as recurring visits.

The short answer

If you deliver fewer than about 100 orders a month, sell through Shopify, or need an API to connect other systems, Routific is the easier choice. If you schedule recurring service visits, plan stops over several days, or want proof of delivery reports and a customer tracking page on a flat monthly plan, look at Routes & Maps.

Pick Routific if…

  • You deliver fewer than 100 orders a month and want to pay nothing.
  • Your orders come from Shopify, or you want Zapier, an API or webhooks.
  • You want SMS notifications as an option (a paid add-on).
  • You want routes that take historical traffic patterns into account.

Pick Routes & Maps if…

  • You schedule recurring service visits on cycles like monthly or "2nd Tuesday".
  • You want to plan stops over several days in one plan, or have drivers go back to reload mid-route.
  • You want to know why a stop could not be routed and what to change.
  • You do field service work and want each customer's last visit tracked.

What it costs

Monthly cost for a few example teams. Routific counts each order once, when it is scheduled to a route; Routes & Maps counts stops. Stops a month assume 22 working days.

What Routific does better

A real free plan

Routific is free up to 100 orders a month, with every feature except SMS. Routes & Maps has no free plan, so for a very small delivery operation Routific costs less.

Shopify and other connections

Orders can come in from Shopify, Zapier, Routific's API and webhooks. Routes & Maps has no public API or ready-made integrations today; stops come in by import or by hand.

Traffic patterns in planning

Routific says it considers historical traffic patterns when it builds routes. Routes & Maps does not use traffic when it plans routes.

SMS as an option

Routific offers SMS notifications as a paid add-on. Routes & Maps sends email notifications only.

What Routes & Maps does better

Recurring visits on any cycle

The address book schedules repeat visits weekly, every few weeks, monthly, or on patterns like "2nd Tuesday", with no limit on how far ahead. A calendar shows what is coming up, and each customer's last visit is tracked so you can see who is due. You still choose the day; Routes & Maps does not pick it for you.

Multi-day plans and reload trips

Routes & Maps can plan a set of stops over several days in one plan (the Starter and Growth plans, or on request), and plan days where drivers go back to the depot or a refill station to reload mid-route (on request). Routific's own blog says it doesn't support multi-day routing or reload trips natively.

It tells you why a stop did not fit

When a stop cannot be routed, Routes & Maps explains the reason (a time window that cannot be met, capacity, a missing skill) and suggests what to change to fit it in.

Several dispatchers on one plan

More than one person can work on the same plan at once and see each other's changes live, with undo and redo. Moving stops by hand is a drag on the timeline.

Frequently asked questions

Is Routes & Maps cheaper than Routific?

Not at very low volumes: under 100 orders a month Routific is free. Above that, compare the two at your own monthly volume; the table above shows a few examples with current prices. Both include unlimited drivers. Small team? We price by stops, not drivers. If our standard plans are more than you need, talk to sales about a Custom plan sized to your monthly stops.

What does each count, orders or stops?

Routific counts each unique order once, when it is scheduled to a route. Routes & Maps plans include a number of stops a month, with a per-stop price for stops beyond the allowance.

Can Routes & Maps connect to Shopify like Routific?

No. Routes & Maps has no Shopify connection or public API today. Orders come in by CSV or Excel import, and Routes & Maps remembers your column layout so repeat imports take a few clicks.

Do both send customers notifications?

Both send email updates and give customers a live tracking link. Routific also offers SMS as a paid add-on; Routes & Maps does not send SMS.

Which is better for field service?

Routes & Maps, if your work repeats: it schedules recurring visits on any cycle, with no limit on how far ahead, and tracks each customer's last visit. Routific is built mainly around delivery orders.
