Routes & Maps

Routes & Maps vs Circuit (Spoke Dispatch)

Circuit for Teams is now called Spoke Dispatch: Circuit's team pricing page redirects to Spoke. Like Routes & Maps, it charges by stops a month and includes unlimited drivers, so the two are closer on price model than most. The differences are in what each is built for: Spoke Dispatch is focused on delivery, with SMS and integrations on every plan, while Routes & Maps also covers recurring service visits.

The short answer

If you run deliveries and want SMS updates for recipients, Shopify or Zapier connections, an API, and navigation inside the driver app, Spoke Dispatch covers all of that on its first plan. If you schedule recurring service visits, want each customer's last visit tracked, or want to plan stops over several days, look at Routes & Maps.

Pick Circuit (Spoke Dispatch) if…

  • You want SMS and email notifications for recipients on every plan.
  • Your orders come from Shopify, or you want Zapier, an API or webhooks.
  • Your drivers want navigation inside the app (embedded Google Maps).
  • You want barcode scanning and unlimited depots on the first plan.

Pick Routes & Maps if…

  • You schedule recurring service visits on cycles like monthly or "2nd Tuesday".
  • You want each customer's last visit tracked.
  • You want an annual billing option.
  • You want to know why a stop could not be routed and what to change.

What Circuit (Spoke Dispatch) does better

SMS and integrations from the first plan

Spoke Dispatch includes SMS and email notifications, a recipient tracking page, a read/write API, webhooks, Shopify and Zapier on its Starter plan. Routes & Maps sends email only and has no public API or integrations today.

Navigation inside the driver app

Drivers get turn-by-turn directions with embedded Google Maps without leaving the app. The Routes & Maps app hands each stop to Google Maps or Waze.

Lower starting price

Spoke Dispatch starts at $125 a month for 1,000 stops, billed monthly. Compare that with our cheapest plan in the table above.

A free app for solo drivers

Spoke also has a separate route planner app for individual drivers, free for routes of up to 10 stops.

What Routes & Maps does better

Recurring visits on any cycle

The address book schedules repeat visits weekly, every few weeks, monthly, or on patterns like "2nd Tuesday", with no limit on how far ahead. A calendar shows what is coming up, and each customer's last visit is tracked so you can see who is due. You still choose the day; Routes & Maps does not pick it for you.

Annual billing option

Every Routes & Maps plan can be paid annually for 20% off. Spoke Dispatch lists monthly prices only.

Planning modes for harder days

Some routes are more than a list of drops. Routes & Maps can plan deliver-and-reload days, where drivers go back to the depot or a refill station to reload mid-route (on request); pick-up-and-dump days, where drivers collect and empty at a dump site (on request); pick up at one address and drop off at another (on request); and stops spread over several days in one plan (the Starter and Growth plans, or on request).

Several dispatchers on one plan

More than one person can work on the same plan at once and see each other's changes live, with undo and redo. Moving stops by hand is a drag on the timeline.
