Routes & Maps

Routes & Maps vs Route4Me

Route4Me is one of the longer-running route planners, and it grows with you through a marketplace of add-ons. Routes & Maps takes the opposite approach: a few plans, with prices on our pricing page, and unlimited drivers on each. This page compares what you get and how you pay.

The short answer

If you want to start with core routing and add capabilities such as recurring routing, text notifications or voice navigation as you need them, and you are happy to get a quote, Route4Me is built for that. If you would rather see the full price up front, with proof of delivery and recurring visits included rather than added on, Routes & Maps is simpler.

Pick Route4Me if…

  • You want a large menu of add-ons and modules to choose from.
  • You want in-app voice-guided navigation (a paid add-on).
  • You need connections such as telematics or an API and SDK.
  • You value a long track record; its site dates the company to 2009.

Pick Routes & Maps if…

  • You want the price on the page, not a quote.
  • You want recurring visits included rather than as a paid add-on.
  • You want unlimited drivers and users on every plan.
  • You want to know why a stop could not be routed and what to change.

What it costs

Route4Me does not list prices on its pricing page: plans are configured with its sales team. Here is what Routes & Maps costs for the same example teams, so you have a number to compare with your quote. Stops a month assume 22 working days.

Excludes taxes. When you get a Route4Me quote, ask which add-ons it includes; recurring routing, text notifications and voice navigation are listed as paid add-ons. Routes & Maps prices are our current plans.

Small team? We price by stops, not drivers. If our standard plans are more than you need, talk to sales about a Custom plan sized to your monthly stops.

What Route4Me does better

Add what you need

Route4Me has a marketplace of add-ons and modules, so a team can start small and switch on more, such as commercial vehicle routing or voice-guided navigation, as it grows. Routes & Maps has fewer, fixed plans.

In-app voice navigation

Route4Me offers voice-guided navigation inside its own app as a paid add-on. The Routes & Maps driver app opens Google Maps or Waze for directions.

API, SDK and telematics

Its pricing table lists APIs and an SDK, telematics platforms and more connections. Routes & Maps has no public API or ready-made integrations today.

A long track record

Route4Me's website dates the company to 2009, and it lists apps for iOS, Android and Zebra devices.

What Routes & Maps does better

The price is on the page

Our plans and prices are on our pricing page (from $150 a month billed annually ($187 monthly)), with the stops each one includes and the price of each additional stop. No call is needed to find out what it costs.

Recurring visits are included

The address book schedules repeat visits weekly, every few weeks, monthly, or on patterns like "2nd Tuesday", with no limit on how far ahead. A calendar shows what is coming up, and each customer's last visit is tracked so you can see who is due. You still choose the day; Routes & Maps does not pick it for you. On Route4Me, recurring routing is a paid add-on.

Price that does not grow with your team

Plans include a monthly stop allowance instead of a per-driver fee, and every plan has unlimited drivers and users. Adding a seasonal driver, a part-time technician or another dispatcher does not change the bill.

Planning modes for harder days

Some routes are more than a list of drops. Routes & Maps can plan deliver-and-reload days, where drivers go back to the depot or a refill station to reload mid-route (on request); pick-up-and-dump days, where drivers collect and empty at a dump site (on request); pick up at one address and drop off at another (on request); and stops spread over several days in one plan (the Starter and Growth plans, or on request).
